About the Coalition

United for Change

A broad coalition of more than two dozen national, regional, and local organizations committed to increased funding and supporting policy changes to create welcoming and robust civic infrastructure for all Americans.

As national conversations around traditional infrastructure and economic recovery gained momentum in 2021, our coalition formed around a powerful idea: the dedication of just a small percentage of federal budgets to the places that connect Americans and provide lasting social and economic benefits.

Out of that idea was born a united coalition — Percent for Place — committed to closing a gap in federal funding and advancing lasting policy change for the benefit of American communities.

Our efforts focus on three core strategies:

  • Telling the story of why civic infrastructure matters,

  • Growing a powerful, cross-sector coalition, and

  • Advocating for reform that prioritizes civic infrastructure in federal policies and budgets.
